The variety belongs to the multi-row barley group var. pallidum. In breeding practice, it is used as a standard against which the maturity dates and winter hardiness levels of other varieties and lines are compared.

During the studies, the variety's resistance to the powdery mildew pathogen was recorded at an acceptable level. Infection with dwarf leaf rust does not exceed 10%.
