The winter barley variety "Vezhen" was bred in Bulgaria and is listed in international genetic resource databases. It is currently included in the official variety list of Bulgaria as an agricultural crop.
Under trial conditions, the variety demonstrated complex resistance to powdery mildew, leaf rust, and spot blotch with an infection level of less than 15%. Regarding net blotch, resistance is assessed as lower, with an infection level from 15 to 25%.
