Variety description

The variety is a compact herbaceous plant 40–50 cm tall with erect, well-branched stems. The leaves are dark green, lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate in shape, and covered with short, stiff hairs.

Capitulum inflorescences about 8 cm in diameter consist of bright mandarin-orange petals, which may take on salmon or coral-pink tones with age, and a dark brown central disc. Flowering continues from July to September.

The plant prefers sunny locations and well-drained soils. During trials, sensitivity to overwintering conditions and susceptibility to aster yellows were noted. The variety is attractive to butterflies and other pollinators.
