Fogo is an interspecific hybrid of Solanum lycopersicum and S. habrochaites. It is not intended for fruit production and is used in industrial vegetable growing as a rootstock for grafting cultivated tomato varieties, providing them with improved vitality and nutrition.

The plant possesses high resistance to tomato brown rugose fruit virus, tomato mosaic virus, leaf mold, Fusarium wilt and root rot, as well as Verticillium wilt. The rootstock exhibits intermediate resistance to tomato spotted wilt virus, powdery mildew, and nematodes.

The rootstock is characterized by intermediate growth vigor, which makes it suitable for use with a wide range of vigorous tomato varieties.
