Buffie is known as source material for breeding; in particular, it served as the basis for the development of the White Robe variety. Agronomic references lack an official description of the plant's morphological traits, such as bush height or disease resistance.

The plant's sepals have the ability to change color depending on soil acidity. Under conditions favoring the expression of pink pigment, the variety exhibits pink blooms, which distinguishes it from varieties derived from it.
