Variety description

The plant is a compact rounded shrub with a height of 0.8 to 1.5 m and a width of about 1.2 m. The foliage is green, sometimes with a red border. The flowers are gathered in spherical bright red inflorescences; the color varies depending on soil acidity: from purple tones on acidic soils to pink-red on alkaline ones.

The variety belongs to hardiness zone 6 and withstands temperatures down to -17…-23 °C. The plant prefers moist, humus-rich, well-drained soils and tolerates lime poorly. Flowering occurs on the previous year's shoots from July to September, therefore it requires the preservation of flower buds during the winter period.
