The Frau Oume variety is part of the "Frau" hydrangea series, known in a number of countries as "Halo Hydrangeas". The plant has large "mophead" type inflorescences.

A distinctive feature of the flowers of this variety is the characteristic "picotee" pattern, in which the petals have a contrasting coloration: a dark center and a lighter edge. Specific agronomic characteristics of the plant are not available in open sources.
