Variety description

The plant is a compact rounded shrub 1.2–1.25 m in height and width. The foliage is dark green, broadly ovate, and acquires reddish-brown or copper shades in autumn. The stems are strong, although they may show weakness when grown in containers.

The inflorescences are spherical and large. The variety blooms in summer, forming flowers on lateral shoots, which ensures prolonged flowering. On acidic soils, the flowers are colored deep blue, and on alkaline soils, bright pink. The inflorescences are suitable for cutting and drying.

The variety tolerates heat and sun better than others. Data on winter hardiness are contradictory: both a moderate ability to bloom in cold regions and average bud winter hardiness are noted, which is why planting in protected locations is recommended. Susceptibility to diseases and pests typical for the species is possible.
