Variety description

The shrub is upright, spreading, reaching 1.5–2 meters in height and about 2.5 meters in width. Leaves are dark green, oval, pointed, and relatively narrow. The variety is a hybrid of Hydrangea macrophylla × Hydrangea serrata.

Inflorescences consist of small fertile flowers in the center and larger sterile flowers on the edges. Flowering occurs in the period from July to September or October. The variety is winter hardy for zones 5–6, sensitive to drought and excessive soil moisture.

The plant is used in landscape design for hedges and mass plantings, and is also suitable for container growing and cut flowers. The plant sap can cause skin irritation, and the plant itself is toxic if ingested.
