Variety description

The variety has an upright shrub shape. Small blue fertile flowers are located in the center of the flat inflorescence; large sterile flowers with white serrated sepals, which have a slight bluish tint, are along the edges. Some sources indicate a possible connection with the species Hydrangea serrata.

The plant blooms from July to September. It possesses frost resistance down to -18 °C. The variety prefers partial shade or shade, as well as moist, well-drained acidic or neutral soils. It is used in landscape design for solitary and group plantings, as well as a container crop.
