Variety description

The plant is a compact, rounded shrub reaching a height of 0.8 to 1.5 m. The leaves are ovate, medium-green, with a serrated margin. Large spherical inflorescences reach 25–30 cm in diameter.

The color of the flowers varies from dark pink and crimson to lilac, purple, or blue depending on soil acidity. A greenish tint is often visible in the center of the flower. As they fade, the inflorescences take on a pinkish-gray tone.

Flowering lasts from June–July to September–October. The plant is characterized as hardy; however, due to the weight of the large inflorescences and the spreading shape of the bush, staking may sometimes be required. Winter hardiness is estimated within USDA zones 5–6.
