Variety description

Rounded shrub, reaching a height of 1–2 m. One of the main distinctive features is the strong, upright, black-purple stems. The foliage is dark green, glossy, and may acquire yellowish hues in autumn.

The inflorescences are of the "lacecap" type — flat corymbs 15–35 cm in diameter, consisting of central small fertile flowers and larger sterile flowers bordering them. On acidic soils, the inflorescences are blue or indigo; on neutral and alkaline soils, they are pink or pale violet.

The variety is remontant, flowering from July to October on current and previous year's shoots. Winter hardiness is down to -20°C. The plant is resistant to lodging and is used in landscape design, container cultivation, and for cut flowers.
