Variety description

The variety is a mutation of Hydrangea macrophylla «Madame Emile Mouillère». The plant is a compact, dense shrub with strong upright shoots, reaching a height of 1.0–1.25 m. The leaves are broad-ovate in shape, with a serrated margin, dark green color, and prominent veins.

Flowering occurs on the previous year's shoots from June–July until cold weather. The inflorescences are globose; the color depends on soil pH and the presence of aluminum: in acidic soils they turn blue, in alkaline soils — pink. The variety is used in single and group plantings, container landscaping, and for cutting.

Agrotechnology includes regular spring rejuvenation and the removal of only frost-damaged parts of the stems. It is recommended to keep faded inflorescences for the winter to protect the flower buds. At the end of the season, the foliage may be susceptible to spotting.
