The Korean-bred variety KSP1, also known as South Korean Pumpkin, is used as a food product and for foliage consumption. Studies confirm the high antioxidant activity of the plant, including a significant level of phenolic compounds and vitamin C in the leaves.
In agronomic research, the variety is used in experiments on in vitro micropropagation and cultivation in sandy soils. Indicators of dry matter and sugar content in the tubers are being studied, as well as the plant's response to various irrigation regimes and harvest dates.
Work is underway to evaluate the variety's resistance to pests, in particular the weevil Cylas puncticollis. Exact morphological characteristics and data on the maturity group depend on the region and cultivation conditions, which requires verification in specialized agronomic registers.
