The plant is a thermophilic perennial crop, which is grown as an annual in temperate climates. The variety has trailing stems reaching 70–80 cm in length, with a main bush height of 15–40 cm.
A characteristic feature is the heart-shaped leaves of a saturated wine-red, bronze, or purple hue. Color intensity is manifested to the maximum when grown in full sun. The plant is resistant to heat and humidity, suitable for landscape design, landscaping, and container cultivation.
