The plant has a dense, branching form. The height of a mature specimen is 20–25 cm with a spread of up to 60–120 cm. The leaves are colored in deep purple-black or plum-purple with prominent burgundy veins and have a lobed configuration.
The variety is a frost-sensitive crop adapted for hardiness zones 9–11, while exhibiting high heat tolerance. The plant is not intended for food purposes; breeding was focused exclusively on the ornamental qualities of the foliage and habit.
