The plant is a dwarf bulbous perennial with a height of 10 to 15 cm, in rare cases reaching 30 cm. Leaves are narrow, quadrangular, dark green; after the flowering period, their length can increase up to 50 cm.
Flowers are colored in tones from light blue to bright blue, with a yellow stripe with white inclusions and blue spots on the outer petals. Possesses a sweet fragrance. The variety is early-flowering, blooming in March–April immediately after snowmelt.
The plant is frost-resistant, belonging to USDA zone 4. It is resistant to diseases, but sensitive to waterlogged soil, which can lead to bulb rot. Suitable for landscaping rock gardens, rockeries, container cultivation, and forcing.
