The Waterloo variety is a well-known American breeding form that has been actively used as parent material in the development of other varieties, for example, Tehama. In scientific literature, it is also mentioned as a promising rootstock for walnut grafting.
Nuts of this variety are distinguished by a unique pointed shape and are considered among the sweetest of the California cultivars. Detailed agrotechnical data, such as maturity group or disease resistance, are practically absent in open publications.
