The Vourey variety was discovered in southeastern France and named after the town of the same name. It is currently almost lost and is found mainly in collection orchards as an object of historical and genetic significance.
The fruits of the variety are characterized by a very large size and are close to the Parisienne variety in terms of shape and quality. The kernel is distinguished by a sweet taste. The variety was mentioned in the literature of the late 19th and early 20th centuries as having high winter hardiness.
