Brune percheronne is an heirloom local lettuce variety from the Centre-Val de Loire region. The plant forms a dense head consisting of large, fleshy, smooth leaves. Their color varies from deep green to brown with characteristic pinkish or reddish shades that appear under sunlight.
The period from sowing to harvest is about 2 months. The variety is suitable for spring sowing from late February to April and summer-autumn sowing from mid-July to September. The plant exhibits vigorous growth and is characterized as hardy and heat-tolerant.
