The variety forms large, dense, but not overly tight heads. Leaves are heavily frilled, crisp, green on the exterior with a reddish-brown or bronze tint; the inner part of the head is pale green.
The vegetation period is approximately 80–90 days. The variety is bolt-resistant, capable of germinating at high temperatures, and well-tolerant of cool climates. The leaves have a delicate texture and a mild, slightly nutty flavor.
Originates from the Dauphiné region in France and is a family heirloom variety. It is used for fresh consumption and recommended for cultivation in the spring and autumn periods.
