The variety was obtained as a result of controlled pollination of two lines, followed by self-pollination and the use of pedigree and line breeding methods. The main selection goals were head shape and size parameters, as well as resistance to downy mildew and bolting dates.
The plant belongs to the Romaine (Cos lettuce) type and has no leaf anthocyanin coloration. The variety is distinguished by late or very late bolting under long-day conditions and demonstrates resistance to downy mildew, which allows it to be used in challenging open field conditions.
