LOCARNO RZ (85-81 RZ) is a Lollo Bionda type leaf lettuce with deeply incised, curly leaves of a light green glossy shade. The plant is characterized by high uniformity and a distinct greenish rosette base.
The variety possesses high resistance to lettuce downy mildew Bremia lactucae (strains Bl:1-16, 21, 23, 32EU). The leaves of the variety have a crispy structure, are resistant to tip burn and tolerate high temperatures well, while the plant itself is resistant to bolting.
The plant is universal for cultivation in open field and protected cultivation, as well as in hydroponic systems. The variety is intended for the fresh market and is frequently used in salad mixes.
