This variety is a commercial rootstock used exclusively for grafting cucurbits. The plant is not grown for fruit production and is not intended for food use.

The use of this rootstock provides watermelons with resistance to crown rot caused by Phytophthora capsici and effectively helps combat Fusarium wilt. A positive effect of the material on the quality and density of the scion plants' fruit flesh has also been noted.
