The variety OL1330 is a specialized form of Lagenaria siceraria used as a rootstock for watermelons, melons, and cucumbers. The primary purpose of this form is to increase the resistance of the scion to unfavorable soil conditions and a range of pathogens.

The plant possesses resistance to various races of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis, and Fusarium solani f. sp. cucurbitae. At the same time, the rootstock may be susceptible to insect-borne viruses, including Tomato leaf curl New Delhi virus.
