The primary purpose of the Emphasis rootstock is to increase the yield of the scion and provide protection for cultivated plants against soil-borne pathogens, in particular Fusarium wilt caused by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum.

The use of this hybrid helps grafted plants better overcome stress factors, including unfavorable soil conditions. Due to its specialized purpose, the morphological characteristics of the plant's fruits are not described in the literature, as the crop is grown exclusively for its root system.
