The plant forms a compact, dense, rounded bush 30–45 cm in height and width. The foliage is gray-green and persists through the winter period. The inflorescences are dense spikelike racemes with additional flower clusters at the stem nodes below the main inflorescence, creating an enhanced color effect.
The variety is early-flowering, blooms in the first year after planting without the need for vernalization, and continues to bloom from early summer until autumn. The variety is drought-tolerant, winter-hardy in USDA zones 5–9, and prefers well-drained sandy or loamy soils with a neutral or alkaline pH level.
The plant is used in landscape design for creating borders, mass plantings, container cultivation, and rock gardens. The inflorescences are suitable for cutting and retain their color and fragrance well when dried.
