The plant forms a dense rounded bush with linear aromatic leaves of a pale grey-green shade, which turns to steel-grey in winter. Rich blue flowers are gathered in dense inflorescences on upright peduncles.

Flowering lasts from late spring to late summer. The variety is winter-hardy (withstands down to -29 °C), characterized by an upright habit and resistance to lodging. When cultivated, it is sensitive to moisture stagnation in the winter period, which can cause rotting of the root system and stems.
