The variety was created by the method of individual clonal selection in the progeny from backcrossing a sterility source with the Hemus variety. The plant is distinguished by a high essential oil content, ranging from 1.85–2.32% in the plant material, and the highest number of flowers per semi-whorl among a number of compared varieties.

The plant is adapted to arid climatic conditions and possesses high winter hardiness. The variety is successfully propagated by vegetative means (cuttings) and also demonstrates genetic stability when using the in vitro clonal micropropagation method.
