Under optimal conditions, the plant forms a bushy shape up to 80 cm in height and about 30 cm in width. A distinctive morphological feature of the variety is the presence of bracts resembling small wings at the top of the inflorescence.

The variety has low winter hardiness; in temperate climates, it is grown as an annual or a container plant with indoor overwintering. The plant is demanding regarding watering and is prone to wilting during drought, especially when grown in pots.

The main purpose of the variety is ornamental gardening, in particular, the landscaping of rock gardens and use as a container plant.
