The plant forms grey-green aromatic foliage that retains its decorative quality after cold winters. The flower stalks are long, rising above the bush, and bear spike-like inflorescences. Sterile bracts at the tips of the inflorescences are over 3 cm long and change color from dark purple to lighter shades as they age.

The variety is early-flowering; blooming begins from late winter or early spring and lasts a long time. The plant tolerates drought well, but is sensitive to excessive soil moisture, which causes rot. It requires a sunny location and high-quality drainage, and is suitable for container cultivation, creating hedges, and cutting.
