Dimitra is a small-seeded lentil variety with light green or cream-colored seeds on the outside and yellow on the inside. The variety is adapted to Mediterranean growing conditions and is characterized by high productivity.
The plant possesses relative resistance to damage by bruchids (Bruchus spp.), which ensures lower yield losses compared to a number of other genotypes. The variety is valued for its good taste qualities and short cooking time, and is often used in scientific research as a reference standard.
