The Calais lily belongs to the LA hybrids (Longiflorum x Asiatic hybrid). The plant forms straight, strong stems 120–145 cm tall. The foliage is dark green, glossy, and elongated in shape.

The flowers are bright yellow in hue and reach 17–18 cm in diameter; the petals are broad and smooth, and the anthers have a dark copper color. Flowering occurs in July–August, and up to 17–24 buds are formed on one plant. The fragrance is light.

The variety possesses high winter hardiness (corresponding to USDA zones 3–7) and is resistant to diseases and unfavorable weather conditions, such as wind and rain. It is intended for cut flowers and the decoration of gardens and flower beds.
