The 'Costa del Sol' variety belongs to the group of Asian hybrids. The plant is low-growing, reaching a height of about 60 cm. The flowers, 13–14 cm in diameter, have a bicolored coloration: the petals are yellow from the center to the middle, and reddish-pink at the tips. There is sparse fine dark spotting at the throat of the flower; there is no fragrance.

Flowering of the variety occurs in June–July. The plant is characterized by high frost resistance, withstanding temperature drops down to –40°C. The variety prefers sunny or slightly shaded areas with loose, drained soils and does not tolerate waterlogging. It is used in landscape design, for cut flowers, and for cultivation in containers.
