The ‘Montreux’ variety is classified as an Asiatic hybrid (group I(a/b-c)). The plant is intended for use in professional floriculture, including forcing and cutting, as well as for garden decorative landscaping.

Asiatic hybrids are characterized by high winter hardiness and resistance to typical diseases. The presence of fragrance is not characteristic of this plant group. A mutation (sport) of this variety exists under the name ‘Montreux, Alba’, which is distinguished by a lighter coloration.

When identifying the variety, it is necessary to avoid confusion with the Oriental lily ‘Monteneu’, which is a separate plant with different characteristics, in particular, the presence of fragrance and different flowering times.
