The Nike variety is used in scientific research in the field of genetics and breeding to study the response of flax to high soil acidity, aluminum content, and pathogens. In the literature, it is mentioned as a model sample for conducting physiological and genetic experiments.

During studies of the variety, a high coefficient of variation in elementary fiber length was noted. The variety is also used in studying the genetic mechanisms of plant response to Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lini.
