The variety belongs to the oilseed flax group and is characterized as mid-season or early mid-season type. It is widely used in breeding programs, acting as a parental form for the development of new varieties.

The plant possesses genetic resistance to all races of rust prevalent in North America, due to the presence of the L6 gene. The variety is distinguished by high seed productivity and high oil yield, and has also been studied for the content of mucilaginous substances and cadmium-binding components.
