The variety is diploid (2n) and was developed based on populations used for breeding the Oryx variety. The main breeding objective was to improve resistance to Puccinia coronata while maintaining high productivity.

The plant is distinguished by very rapid development in spring, which ensures an early first cut. The variety is suitable for producing high-quality silage and is included in dairy cattle diets as high-energy feed. It is also used to suppress weeds in maize crops.
