The variety has a winter growth habit. The plant forms a semi-spreading bush of medium density with a long, well-leafed stem. The height reaches 65–90 cm, the leaves are of medium width and length or long, the inflorescence is an awned spike up to 25 cm long. It rarely heads in the year of sowing, regrows early in spring, and heads in all cuts.

The plant possesses resistance to a complex of leaf spots and rusts. It belongs to the "sweet grasses" with a high content of water-soluble sugars. It has a lower water content in the green mass compared to tetraploid varieties, which facilitates drying and preservation.

The variety provides 2–3 cuts per season and is suitable for grazing, silage and haylage production. It demonstrates the best yield indicators on fertile, permeable loamy soils. The recommended sowing period for seed plots is from mid-August to the end of September.
