The Bipes variety belongs to the diploid form of Italian ryegrass. During the selection process, particular attention was paid to traits related to seed yield, in particular, reducing their shattering.
The plant is characterized by rapid development after sowing and a high growth rate. The nutritional value of the product is estimated as high; the first cut is readily consumed by livestock.
The variety is intended for short-term forage lands for a period of 1–2 years. It is suitable for obtaining green fodder and haylage and is often used in mixtures for the formation of highly productive swards.
