The variety Litonio is a tetraploid (4n) form of Italian ryegrass. The plant has medium length in the autumn period in the year of sowing and is officially recognized in the European Union as a variety that has passed standardized tests for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.

The purpose of the variety lies in agricultural use for forming productive forage lands, as well as for hay and silage harvesting. Litonio is mentioned in specialized scientific publications and comparative trials of forage grasses as one of the studied German samples.
