The variety is tetraploid and belongs to the late-maturing group. The plant has a semi-prostrate growth habit before vernalization, forms long or very long leaves of a wide shape, which have a medium intensity of green color.
Mach 1 is distinguished by rapid rooting and active growth, providing forage until late spring and early summer. The variety is intended for intensive use, including livestock grazing, as well as silage and hay harvesting. Economic longevity is limited to one growing season.
