The variety is intended for use in lawn grass mixtures on sports grounds and playing fields subject to high operational loads. The plant is characterized by rapid germination and the ability to form dense turf that tolerates regular mowing well.

Barmarga is a diploid variety. In professional grass mixtures, it is typically used in combination with other ryegrass varieties and Kentucky bluegrass to ensure rapid surface recovery. The variety is positioned exclusively as a component for sports and ornamental landscaping.
