The Belcampo variety appears in official European Union publications and is used as an object in scientific agronomic experiments, in particular, in studies on nitrogen availability from biogas residues.

In documentation, the variety is sometimes designated as Belcampo (T), which in ryegrass breeding often indicates that it belongs to tetraploid varieties; however, confirmation of this status or detailed specifications of the variety are not presented in the publications.
