The variety is classified as a diploid perennial ryegrass and belongs to the intermediate heading type. In scientific publications, the variety often acts as a control sample when conducting comparative trials with other varieties, including tetraploid forms.

Studies of the variety's nutritional value have shown that compared to some tetraploid analogues, it can demonstrate higher digestibility, although indicators of nitrogen concentration, productivity, and palatability for animals depend on pasture management conditions and grazing intensity.
