The variety was developed based on genetic material of the Mangere ecotype. It belongs to diploid varieties and is intended for the creation of high-yield forage lands designed for cattle grazing.

In scientific publications, the variety is primarily mentioned as a subject of variety trials and as a control for evaluating other lines in the conditions of New Zealand and Australia. Studies covered indicators of yield, forage quality, and adaptability in subtropical and temperate conditions.
