The Fanny variety is a tetraploid mid-maturing variety. During its active use, the variety was used for the creation of pastures and hayfields, and was also included in the lists of lawn grass varieties for landscape gardening.

The plant was characterized by good resistance to stem nematode and clover rot. In a number of trials, the variety served as a control sample (standard) for evaluating the yield and regrowth capacity of other varieties of the crop.
