The variety is intended for forming high-quality turf surfaces and is often used in overseeding mixtures on fields with warm-season grasses, including Bermuda grass. In the breeding process, the material is related to varieties such as Calypso II and Premier.
The plant possesses high shoot density, excellent tolerance to regular mowing, and resistance to summer conditions. Successive versions of the variety are characterized by improved morphological traits, in particular, a more intense dark green leaf color in the Prelude III version.
The variety demonstrates resistance to a number of diseases and specific reactions to herbicides. Morphologically, the plant is a bunch-type grass with a well-developed leaf apparatus, the characteristics of which are maintained and managed during turf maintenance.
