The Transam variety is an intermediate ryegrass intended primarily for turf use and overseeding on fields with bermudagrass. It is often used in mixtures with perennial ryegrass or as a standalone crop for creating sports and recreational surfaces.
The plant has a dark green color, improved salt tolerance, and high mowing quality. It is characterized by very fast germination and establishment in cool conditions. In spring, the variety quickly gives way to actively growing bermudagrass, which ensures an effective transition between the growing seasons of the species.
This variety is a specialized turf solution and is not intended for forage production, despite belonging to the botanical species Lolium x hybridum.
