The variety belongs to the tetraploid type and is distinguished by a high growth rate at early stages of development. Studies demonstrate its good competitiveness within grass mixtures, as well as the ability to maintain productivity during the transition from the first to the second year of use.

The Tirna ryegrass variety is intended for the establishment of forage lands and can be grown both in pure stands and in mixtures with clover or other grasses. The yield of the variety is comparable to that of perennial ryegrass; the produce is used for livestock grazing, as well as for haylage or silage preparation.
